Jackson Black PRIDE to host it’s 17th Annual Health Summit at The Westin Jackson

This year’s theme – One Team. One Love. – encourages LGBT+ communities to support and celebrate wellness for every body

Jackson, MS – 9, 2023 - This year's theme, “One Team. One Love: Embracing CommUNITY and Culture,” highlights the importance of personal and environmental health within the LGBT+ communities in Mississippi. Amidst a social landscape often marked by divisiveness, the JBP 2023 Health Symposium aims to provide participants with an intimate exploration of creative ways to achieve optimal wellness, financial stability, and overall happiness. Originating over 20 years ago in the U.S., the Black PRIDE movement annually unites the Black LGBT+ community and allies to address racism, sexism, homophobia, and exclusion. This year’s Health Summit continues this tradition by introducing and reminding the LGBT+ community of the numerous allies and options available, particularly as many states consider legislation affecting LGBT+ communities.

This one-day event is a remarkable gathering of experts, offering educational opportunities that celebrate the LGBT+ community. It addresses health equity and creates a space for fostering the resilience of the LGBT+ community. This year’s event features distinguished experts in health equity, mental health, and state-of-the-art clinical solutions. A highlight is the panel discussion on 'Lifestyle Beautification' with Drs. Contessa and Scott Metcalfe from "Married to Medicine." This session will delve into a variety of engaging topics, including facial aesthetics, advanced weight loss therapies, anti-aging solutions, and more. Additionally, there will be insightful presentations on financial literacy, social issues, and health & wellness.

Each year, the Jackson Black PRIDE experience evolves into an even richer opportunity to laugh, learn, and live authentically. This year is no exception. The event will not only offer lunch and SWAG bags, but also registration for the Health Summit automatically enters guests into a raffle for a 'Weekend Get-Away.' My Brother’s Keeper, Inc. is proud to present and support this year’s events.
