Jackson Black Pride exists to create spaces where Black LGBTQ+ individuals and allies can connect, celebrate, and thrive. Through community engagement, education, health initiatives, and cultural experiences, we foster an environment where every person feels seen, valued, and empowered. Our work is rooted in the belief that visibility matters, community creates strength, and collective action drives meaningful change. Together, we are building a future where everyone has the opportunity to live authentically and without barriers.
More Than 20 Years of Community, Pride & Purpose
OUR ROOTS
For more than 20 years, the Black Pride movement has served as a powerful force for visibility, advocacy, and community building across the United States. Jackson Black Pride was established to create a space where Black LGBTQ+ individuals and allies could gather in celebration, find support, access resources, and address the unique challenges impacting their lives and communities.
What began as an opportunity to foster connection and belonging has evolved into a year-round platform for advocacy, health equity, leadership development, and community empowerment. Through Pride Week programming, the Health Summit, and strategic community partnerships, Jackson Black Pride continues to elevate Black voices, promote wellness, combat stigma, and create opportunities for individuals to live authentically and thrive.
Today, we remain committed to building a stronger, more inclusive Mississippi where every person is seen, supported, and celebrated.
